We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of flag football, a genuine passion for teaching the game, a commitment to educational athletics, and proven ability to build a healthy team culture. You'll serve as a visible and collaborative leader within the school community, from summer sessions to hiring assistant coaches and managing scheduling.
Program Leadership & Vision: Serve as the strategic and cultural leader, overseeing the development and alignment of the entire Girls Flag Football program. Practice & Game Planning: Plan and execute practices that are engaging, challenging, and align with program goals and team culture. Skill & Strategy Instruction: Teach and reinforce fundamental skills, advanced strategies, and rules of flag football. Culture Building: Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment, emphasizing respect, accountability, and sportsmanship. Student Supervision: Supervise and maintain appropriate student behavior at all practices, games, and team functions. Game Day Leadership: Provide direct leadership and sideline support during all games and tournaments. Communication: Proactively communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and staff. Safety & Organization: Maintain a safe, organized, and positive practice and game-day environment. Compliance & Standards: Ensure strict compliance with all UHS, MCAL, NCS, and CIF rules and regulations. Administrative Support: Assist in tracking attendance, performance data, and equipment needs. Year-Round Engagement: Attend all scheduled practices, games, meetings, and events as required, including year-round responsibilities from summer assessments through the fall season.

Requirements
Who You Are
Experienced Coach: You bring a minimum of 3 years of coaching experience, preferably in football, flag football, or another team sport, with proven leadership abilities. Flag Football Expert: You possess strong knowledge of flag football fundamentals, rules, and game strategies. Playing experience in flag or tackle football is a plus. Effective Leader: You demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, capable of inspiring and guiding both athletes and assistant coaches. Student-Athlete Focused: You're passionate about supporting student-athletes in their holistic growth both on and off the field. Certified (or Ready To Be): You hold, or are willing to obtain, CPR and First Aid certification, as well as any required CIF/NCS coaching certifications.
Compensation
This is a year-round, part-time position. The
pay range is $10,000 – $15,000
, commensurate with experience. This compensation includes responsibilities during summer assessment periods and the fall competitive season (August–November).
