Security Clearance Requirement: Applicants will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. Ability to obtain and maintain HSPD-12 and Secret clearance is preferred.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Must be certified/licensed in pipefitting, steam fitting, or sprinkler systems, with a valid journeyman plumber's license.
- Master's Plumber's license issued by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is preferred.
- Backflow certification is highly preferable or candidates must be willing to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, modify, and repair all pipes and plumbing systems.
- Maintain and upgrade plumbing equipment and piping.
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on plumbing-related equipment.
- Report to the Shift Operating Engineer.
- Install and repair plumbing equipment such as water heaters, drinking fountains, toilets, and sinks throughout the facility.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8+ years relevant experience and a High School diploma or GED.
- Must pass a government security investigation and be eligible for access to classified information, including U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain & maintain HSPD-12 & Secret clearance.

Physical Abilities:
- Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for extended periods.
- Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet, climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
- Perform routine physical activities including walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
- Good vision and hearing, with the ability to communicate in English.
- Use standard ladders with tools without exceeding weight limits.
- Recognize problems or potential issues, apply general rules to specific problems, and synthesize information to form conclusions.

Pay Range: USD $38.00 - USD $44.75 per hour.
