Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead a model-based approach to the development of power systems on New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
Develop models to capture and simulate the architecture, behavior, requirements, and performance of electrical power systems and components.
Perform the analysis of systems and components using model-based techniques and tools to verify and validate requirements and design.
Design and manage interfaces between model-based processes and components.
Develop and promote model-based process and standards for model development using sound engineering principles, model architectures, and management.
Develop simulation and test frameworks using model-based tools.
Work closely with Systems and Design teams to validate model completeness and correctness.
Provide guidance on use of models and model-based tools to project and functional teams.
Effectively and timely communicate with project team and leadership to enable quick issue resolution.
Facilitate reuse strategies and Product Line Engineering (PLE) practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or similar field from an accredited university or college.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a systems engineering, software engineering, model-based development, or other relevant technical engineering role.
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
Desired Characteristics
Demonstrated experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo and MagicDraw.
Demonstrated experience with UML and SysML modeling languages.
Experience with Mathworks suite of tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, System Composer, and Requirements Toolbox.
Experience integrating multi-discipline models in an MBSE ecosystem.
Experience with ARP-4754, RTCA DO-178, DO-331, and DO-254
PTC Windchill experience
IBM DOORS experience
Experience with Power Systems architecture and design, including power generation, power conversion, and power distribution on aircraft and aerospace platforms.
Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
High degree of accountability to program deliverables, including quality, reliability, performance, and cost.
Clear thinker and ability to work with limited information and ambiguous problem definitions.
Proven ability to manage risk and uncertainty for self and team within a dynamic priority-setting environment.
Strong technical acumen paired with the ability to understand a wide range of technology domains.
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation across organizations and influence indirect teams.
