Location: Mclean VA (Local or Nearby) Duration: Contract to Hire • Complete application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production issues across multiple environments and platforms. • Develop software applications using Java, SQL, XML, WSDL, Shell Scripts, Autosys, Perl, Python, and other tools as required. Complete enhancements and fix bugs as assigned and discovered. • Support Agile processes including Daily Scrum meetings and periodic iterations. Provide suggestions and enhancements, and pro-actively support existing applications. • Review the status of Daily Continuous Integration Jenkins builds. • Improve code quality using SONAR, Fortify, and other code quality tools. • Design and develop complex SOA-based applications, setting expectations and priorities throughout the development lifecycle; determine methodologies and tools; complete development using multiple languages and products; design and conduct tests. • Develop backend, database-focused applications using Eclipse and Java. Expertise in Web Services and Message Driven Beans within a J2EE container. • Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase options. • Integrate applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; establish connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers. • Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools. • Update job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software; participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain networks; participate in professional organizations. • Enhance organization reputation by taking ownership of new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
