We are seeking an Operating Room/Surgical Technician, internally referred to as our OR Tech or Surgical Technologist in our Surgery Center, at St. Mary's Surgical Center (Blue Springs, MO), a member of Prime Healthcare. As an OR/Surgical Technician for outpatient surgery center, you should be empathetic and have good communication skills. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case, providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures, able to work well under stressful and emergency situations, able to act quickly and accurately, some assistance in sterile processing may be necessary. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: graduation from an ORT training program within 6 months of hire or on the job training with a minimum of 2 years experience in a surgical setting, current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current, experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (i.e. General, Ortho, Urology and GI).
