We are currently hiring a
Per Diem Sterile Processing Technician
to support our Ambulatory Surgery Center in
River North, Chicago . This is a flexible, part-time role with a pay range of
$24-$26/hr . Shifts include
2-3 days per week , with
occasional weekend coverage
as needed. Overview:
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective reprocessing of surgical instruments and supplies. This position is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, inspection, and distribution of surgical instruments and trays to support fertility-related procedures in a modern, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to quality are essential in this role. Essential Functions: Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and trays according to standard operating procedures Operate sterilizers and other reprocessing equipment safely and accurately Monitor and document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate compliance logs Prepare and restock surgical packs and instrument sets based on procedural schedules Ensure proper storage, inventory rotation, and handling of sterile supplies Report equipment issues and support preventive maintenance efforts Follow all infection control protocols and hospital-grade safety standards Collaborate with OR staff to ensure instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure Requirements: High school diploma or GED required Certification in Sterile Processing preferred (CBSPD or CRCST) Previous experience in sterile processing or ambulatory surgery center setting preferred Knowledge of infection control and sterilization standards Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain attention to detail under pressure Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a surgical team COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved exemption) Must pass background check, drug screen, and reference check What We Offer:
