Job Req ID: 26764 Job Summary SuperMicro Computer is seeking a senior high-speed cable engineer with 5-10+ years of experience to research, design, develop, and test high-speed signal integrity for AI GPU systems, enterprise server storage, add-on cards, and storage products. This role is based at our headquarters in San Jose, CA, and involves working with PCI-e Gen5/6, Infiniband, and emerging high-speed interface trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Define cable connectivity specifications, pin mapping, and create cable part numbers following SMC standards, collaborating with vendors from concept to sample. Coordinate with system and QA teams to validate cable products, troubleshoot issues, and ensure resource sharing across multiple systems. Maintain cable specifications, BOM database, documentation, and revision control. Support product development and manufacturing during sample and production phases, resolving customer issues and providing technical support. Manage cable product lifecycle, including end-of-life processes and compatibility testing. Qualifications MSEE with 5+ years or BSEE with 8+ years of experience in high-speed cable connectivity. Experience with high-speed I/O buses like NVLink, Ethernet, USB, PCI Express, and CXL. Knowledge of impedance, signal integrity, and testing tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills, with a good understanding of server and storage architectures. Self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Salary Range $140,000 - $160,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits, bonuses, and equity may also be included.
