The Quality Control Inspector FM is responsible for reviewing aircraft flight and maintenance data from the MRO System, Fleet Management (FM) Planners, vendors, and other Aircraft Fixed Based Operations (FBO) to ensure aircraft airworthiness. This role provides input to Fleet Management to ensure compliance with Customer, FAA, and Repair Station standards, and oversees Logs & Records personnel auditing aircraft flight logs. The position reports directly to the Quality Control Manager and is supervised by the FM Quality Control Lead. Key Responsibilities
Review and verify aircraft documentation post-maintenance for aircraft release, ensuring compliance with FAR Parts 43, 91, and 145, manufacturer data, drawings, and technical bulletins. Monitor maintenance source documents and aircraft inspection records, reporting discrepancies or trends to management. Assist FM Group with technical guidance on aircraft records. Update aircraft maintenance work scopes on the MRO tracker system. Support Log and Records personnel with flight log data reviews. Coordinate with FM Supervisor and Lead on quality issues, especially logbook concerns affecting airworthiness. Work outside normal hours and travel as needed. Minimum Qualifications
FAA-issued certificate with Airframe and Power Plant ratings preferred, or five years of equivalent experience. Minimum of five years as an A&P mechanic or in aircraft logs and records, with at least three years making airworthiness decisions. Knowledge of applicable regulations for return to service of maintenance and alterations (FAR Parts 43, 91, 145) and familiarity with technical data. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks. Clear communication skills, both verbal and written. Valid drivers license and computer literacy, including Pentagon 2000 SQL experience. Physical and Work Environment
