Tyto Athene is searching for a
Senior Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer
to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Senior Mobile Device Management (MDM) Engineer assists in the setup, deployment, and configuration of mobile devices using MDM software, confirming devices are correctly enrolled and security policies are applied. leads the design, implementation, and management of MDM solutions across a mobile device ecosystem, integrating them with existing IT infrastructure. This position ensures compliance with cybersecurity policies and supports secure enterprise mobility through expert-level configurations and management of MDM platforms.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and audits mobile device security policies, including encryption, access control, device compliance checks, and remote wipe capabilities to protect sensitive data
Collaborates with IT and security teams to address emerging threats and maintain MDM solutions that comply with organizational and regulatory standards
Analyzes MDM system performance, recommending optimizations, improvements, or upgrades to enhance functionality, scalability, and security
Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to junior and journeyman engineers, promoting adherence to best practices and proper troubleshooting protocols
Participates in the selection and evaluation of new MDM tools and platforms, advising on the best solution for the organization's needs
Creates detailed documentation for MDM systems, including user guides, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, with at least 3 years specializing in MDM
Expertise with MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch), or MobileIron
Strong understanding of mobile OS (iOS, Android) management, encryption, and compliance settings
Experience with DoD mobility requirements and DISA-approved MDM configurations
Ability to write technical documentation and SOPs clearly and effectively
Desired:
Master's degree in related field
Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture for mobile devices.
Experience with containerization and mobile threat defense integration.
Background supporting classified environments with mobility needs.
Experience scripting with PowerShell or using automation tools for device management.
Knowledge of PKI, certificate-based authentication, and secure VPN usage on mobile devices.
CISSP or CASP+ Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
ITIL v4 Foundations
GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst (GMOB)
Clearance:
Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Certification:
DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
CompTIA Security+ MDM vendor-specific certifications
OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification (general workplace safety)
