Job Summary: The Digital Product Design Manager is responsible for the vision and design strategy for Polaris digital products, including in-vehicle infotainment displays, the Polaris, Indian Motorcycle, and Slingshot mobile apps, and the RIDE COMMAND website, as well as connected features across these platforms. They will manage a passionate team of designers in ideation, research, design, and definition of the customer experience for digital products.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the design of Polaris digital products from concept to launch, thinking strategically and framing design within the customer experience of powersports, and drive execution.
Partner with design, product, and engineering leadership to define digital product vision. Articulate design strategy and the value of design, ensuring buy-in at all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure products meet technical feasibility and design excellence.
Manage the design team backlog, workload, and priorities.
Conduct competitive, customer, and user research and gather feedback to inform design decisions.
Set design standards and guidelines for digital products, ensuring consistency and quality across platforms.
Manage, mentor, and coach a team of designers, run team design reviews.
Attract and develop top design talent.
Refine the team's design process with the best tools and methodologies.
Understand Polaris customers & products.
Qualifications & Skills:
10+ years of experience in digital product design, with at least 5 years in leadership roles involving direct reports, hiring, and talent development.
Experience with digital product design for the automotive industry and embedded software/hardware products.
Experience leading consumer-facing product design for native iOS and Android apps.
A portfolio of your product design work is required when applying.
Working Conditions The pay range for Minnesota is $160,000 to $200,000 per year. Salaries are determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
