We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Operations to support our ADAS/Autonomous Driving (AD) leadership team. This role will work closely with the VP of ADAS/AD to define, execute, and optimize the operational framework that powers our high-performance engineering organization. This is a high-impact position, ideal for a systems thinker with a strong background in automotive technology, operations, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Planning
Partner with the VP of ADAS/AD to define and implement departmental goals, vision, and priorities in alignment with company strategy. Develop and own the operational roadmap, driving initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and delivery quality. Establish standardized KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to support data-driven decision-making. Lead strategic planning cycles, including annual operating plans, resource and headcount planning, and budget forecasting and planning. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to support operational and product strategy.
Process Optimization & Cross-functional Execution
Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and workflows across the ADAS/AD team. Foster collaboration across Product, Engineering, Finance, HR and other cross functional teams to ensure streamlined execution of broad initiatives. Manage departmental operations: lead and document reviews, meetings, and key milestones.
Executive Reporting & Communication
Prepare and present executive-level updates, including metrics, status updates, and initiatives. Translate complex technical and operational data into actionable insights for stakeholders. Support the VP with analyses, preparing presentations and preparing communications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree strongly preferred. 5+ years of experience in engineering operations, program management, chief of staff —preferably within tech sectors, robotics, automotive, or mobility industries. Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives or operating as a chief of staff in a high-growth and fast paced environment. Proven ability to lead through influence, manage ambiguity, and drive outcomes across diverse teams. Expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with project management and business intelligence tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Tableau, ATS Systems, SAP etc.). Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. High integrity, discretion, and adaptability.
Nice To Have
Strong knowledge of electric vehicles, ADAS/AD systems, and the automotive product development lifecycle.
Salary Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits : Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$154,400—$226,490 USD
