Our client delivers innovative, energy-efficient, and sustainable thermal management solutions tailored for hyperscale, colocation, and edge data centers! They are seeking a dynamic Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams in advancing cutting-edge cooling technologies to support the growing demands of AI, cloud computing, and high-performance computing environments.
What You’ll Do :
Develop and execute plans for innovative cooling solutions, applying thermal engineering principles to optimize heat transfer and energy efficiency.
Mentor and manage a team of thermal, mechanical, and control systems engineers, promoting collaboration and technical excellence.
Oversee the design, testing, and implementation of cooling systems, including liquid cooling, immersion cooling, and air-based systems, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Support initiatives to reduce Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) through efficient thermal designs and sustainable practices, such as low-GWP refrigerants and free cooling.
Ensure cooling designs meet industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE TC 9.9) and environmental regulations (e.g., EPA guidelines).
8+ years of engineering leadership experience, with at least 3 years in the data center cooling industry or related HVAC fields.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics, with experience designing cooling systems for high-density data centers.
Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling for airflow and heat distribution optimization.
In-depth understanding of HVAC systems, including CRAC units, chillers, heat exchangers, and precision cooling technologies tailored to data center cooling.
Experience with liquid cooling (e.g., direct-to-chip, immersion) or two-phase cooling systems.
Demonstrated ability to design energy-efficient cooling solutions that reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
Strong project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, or Agile methodologies.
Ability to mentor and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in thermal and mechanical disciplines.
