Position Specific Summary
This position will help support data integrity efforts and deliver data intelligence tools that monitor and track fundraising results within the National Parks Conservation Association. Using our CRM system, SQL knowledge, and Tableau, the intern will work with our donor and fundraising data to create Tableau dashboards or reports that monitor our results and metrics. The intern will work with our staff to ensure that the data used in those reports is accurate, up-to-date, and complete, and will build dashboards based on requests and specifications from Development Operations staff.
Standard Position Description The student will support departmental decision-making through and/or projects through the development of reports, data visualizations, and insights. Tasks may include: Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing datasets from internal systems (e.g., surveys, spreadsheets, databases), Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to summarize findings. Using statistical tools (e.g., Excel, R, SPSS, or Python) to identify trends and insights. Presenting data findings in written and verbal formats to non-technical audiences. Collaborating with faculty/staff to identify opportunities for data-driven improvement. Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and privacy in all data handling processes. May mentor or review work of other student assistants. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience using SQL to query large datasets or CRMs Prior experience creating dashboards in Tableau (or a similar data visualization software) from an existing dataset and documenting their work A high level of understanding of confidentiality in data usage and have strong attention to detail
