NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire a Network Engineer to support a federal agency. This role is located 100% onsite in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Candidates must be eligible for a Secret Clearance. Key Responsibilities Design, test, upgrade, and integrate new or existing networks, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, VoIP, intranets, and extranets, to meet organizational business requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process, including build configuration, testing, deployment, and network design, to ensure accurate records and maintain operational efficiency. Coordinate network changes, including implementing new networks, upgrading existing ones, or deploying version increments, with administrators and stakeholders. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard existing and newly deployed networks and perform network modeling, analysis, and planning; evaluate new and emerging network technologies, and provide recommendations for their adoption. Assist with complex network troubleshooting and, when necessary, coordinate vendor engagements to address and resolve issues effectively. Operate independently to lead projects, supervise staff, and collaborate with senior technical and user personnel to deliver innovative solutions to technical challenges. Configure VLANs, trunk uplinks, and ether-channels for redundancy and bandwidth optimization. Install and replace network equipment, including Wireless Access Points, Wireless LAN Controllers, and VOIP phones, while ensuring minimal downtime and conduct wireless surveys for optimal access point placement and interference resolution. Create detailed and complex documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and network diagrams, to represent network infrastructure and traffic flow summaries for specific systems. Conduct advanced troubleshooting for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), provide guidance and support to less experienced staff, and serve as the WLAN team lead on projects, coordinating and managing the efforts of other technical personnel to achieve project goals. Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Certifications Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in network engineering. Bachelors degree and/or equivalency. Candidates must be eligible for a Secret Clearance. IAT II certification [(CCNA-Security), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)] as per DoD 8570.01-M requirements. CE: Professional level certification. Ability to work 100% onsite in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Preferred Qualifications and Certifications Advanced certifications in network technologies. Experience leading complex network engineering projects in federal environments. Demonstrated expertise in VoIP network design and troubleshooting. Previous Federal Consulting Experience. About Us
