Sales - Junior Sales Manager
Summary : The Junior Sales Manager will work on sales projects within the Americas region (North America, South America, Caribbean). The general responsibility is to develop and close long term service agreements covering equipment starting from engines to inclusion of auxiliary systems. Primary customers will be the owners or management companies of power plants and marine vessels. Business is typically high value and developed through the preparation of proposals for in-house leads or in response to customer tenders (RFPs).
Key Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate with regional managers to identify and qualify sales opportunities. Collaborate with global tendering and technical teams to define proposal scope, timelines, and input costs. Prepare sales pricing using in-house Excel models, incorporating internal and externally sourced costs. Draft, format, and present compelling proposals using Word and PowerPoint, based on company templates. Review technical and commercial requirements in collaboration with internal subject matter experts. Present and explain proposals to customers; support negotiation and contract finalization. Adapt in-house contract templates to opportunity-specific needs in accordance with company policies. Work with legal, commercial, and technical stakeholders to coordinate contract adjustments. Conduct handover of closed contracts to execution teams with a concise summary of key terms. Develop understanding of contract structures, pricing strategies, and negotiation techniques through mentoring and on-the-job training. Maintain professionalism, integrity, and compliance with company guidelines in all business dealings. Provide general support to senior sales and tendering team members in daily operations. Required Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas:
Business, Commerce, or Economics Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related fields) Required Experience:
This is an entry-level role; significant full-time experience is
not
required. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and business acumen through academic performance, internships, or other activities. Desired Experience:
Internship or co-op experience in a sales, tendering, or commercial role within the power generation or marine industry. Exposure to technical products or services in a B2B environment. Familiarity with commercial contracts or tender processes is a plus. Any relevant coursework, certification (e.g., sales, business communications, contract law), or participation in industry-related programs is a plus. Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications: None
Other skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to draft and deliver professional documents and presentations. Business-level proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to think critically and work independently under the mentorship of senior staff. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort communicating across different cultures and organizational levels. Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in an office setting and travel domestically and internationally as required. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and use standard office equipment. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs during trade events or presentations.
