The hurricane season typically runs from June 1 to November 30, but storms may occur outside this period. Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to remain at the facility until after the storm passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be communicated during any storm-related impacts. By accepting this position, you agree to report to your immediate unit manager if a storm occurs. Do not apply during the hurricane window if you are uncomfortable with this expectation. All applicants must apply for licensure within 72 hours of signing the contract. Average daily census is 30 patients. Call is required 1-2 weekdays per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend. Ideal candidates should have skills in angioplasty, arrhythmia induction, cardiac ablation, and various catheterization procedures. Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, interventional cardiac procedures, and maintaining equipment is necessary. Orientation hours are 8. Daily patient care involves adults and geriatrics, with a capacity of 300 beds. References are not required for submission but will be needed to start the contract.
