Seasonally from May to October. Overview Assist the Arboretum Horticulture and Collections Department with the care of turf and landscape gardens, natural areas, greenhouses, research plots, and seasonal displays at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and Horticultural Research Center. Job Duties 100% Perform horticultural maintenance Weeding, weed whipping, mowing, removing brush, watering, spreading mulch and fertilizer utilizing various types of garden and landscaping equipment such as mowers, weed whips, blowers, shovels, pitchforks, ladders, and cherry pickers. Pick up trash and debris; cleaning buildings, moving furniture, etc. Loading and unloading trucks. Qualifications Required Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather, climb 8-foot ladders, and be able to lift 50 pounds for extended periods of time. Ability to operate turf management equipment including riding mowers, fertilizer spreaders, spraying equipment, etc. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $18.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience. Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications. Learn more about retirement plans.
