Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Training Specialist L4 position. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.
The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and instructional leader in the development, delivery, and management of the Space Operations Qualification Course (Space Ops Qual Course) in support of Space Force or Joint space operations training programs. This role requires supports initial qualification, mission certification, and continuation training across operational space mission areas, ensuring alignment with doctrinal guidance and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Skills / Experience Required Active TS/SCI clearance (required) with eligibility for SAP/SAR if applicable 10+ years of relevant experience in space operations, joint training, or military instruction roles 3+ years supporting space training programs or qualification courses (e.g., BIC, STK, Space 200/300, JFCC IMD, SMDC, C2BMC, etc.) Deep understanding of military space systems, C2 processes, orbital mechanics, missile warning, SATCOM, SSA/SDA, and associated mission areas. Proven expertise in curriculum development and training delivery using ISD methodologies Experience working in classified environments and handling operationally sensitive content Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for technical instruction and stakeholder coordination Experience with LMS platforms, simulation systems, and presentation tools (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle, VBS, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to coordinate with HQs, training detachments, mission partners, and operational units Design, develop, and deliver space operations training aligned with USSF, USSPACECOM, or other service doctrine Facilitate classroom and virtual instruction for officer and enlisted personnel undergoing Space Operations qualification Develop instructional materials, lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, scenarios, and assessments Apply ISD principles (ADDIE model) to build and evaluate courseware. Conduct task analyses, front-end analyses, and training gap assessments in support of curriculum updates Support exercise-based training events, simulations, and mission rehearsal scenarios. Incorporate lessons learned, feedback, and updated tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) into training materials Participate in formal course reviews, curriculum approval boards, and validation processes Maintain training records and course documentation IAW accreditation and compliance standards Support mission readiness reporting by aligning training objectives to operational metrics Education / Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Space Studies, Operations Management, or a related field (required). Master's degree preferred for senior-level training roles. Completion of a military instructor course (e.g., USAF Instructor School, Army Basic Instructor Course [ABIC], Master Instructor Certification) highly desired. ISD certification or equivalent training (e.g., ADDIE, SAT) strongly preferred. Familiarity with Joint Publication 3-14, National Security Space doctrine, or Service-specific space operations TTPs Benefits

Security Clearance

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
