The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sterile field and preparing the operating room for surgical procedures in a neat and efficient manner. The Surgical Technologist will work collaboratively with other members of the perioperative team to provide the highest standard of care in accordance with AORN standards during the intraoperative period. This role involves communicating effectively with co-workers, stocking and ordering supplies for the department, and providing additional patient care support as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain a sterile environment and ensure proper use of surgical instrumentation during procedures.- Prepare the operating room and surgical supplies for each case promptly and efficiently.- Collaborate with perioperative team members to ensure optimal patient care and safety.- Assist in stocking and ordering of departmental supplies.- Provide supportive patient care as directed by other healthcare professionals. Minimum Qualifications: - Unrestricted license to practice as a Surgical Technologist in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to the start date.- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; may be obtained upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: - Two years of recent operating room experience.- Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT TS-C or NBSTSA CST).- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Additional Information: - Housing is the responsibility of the traveler. Please note that housing in the area can be expensive, especially during the winter months. It is advisable to look for housing options in nearby towns such as Basalt, Carbondale, or Glenwood Springs, where the average cost for a one-bedroom apartment is around $3,500 per month.- Travelers should be healthy enough to function in a low-oxygen environment at high elevation (8,000 feet).- While hours cannot be guaranteed, travelers will be scheduled for approximately 40 hours per week and will not be downstaffed.- No requests for time off (RTO) are accepted for this position.
