American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in an acute care hospital with a trauma level 2 designation and rotating day/night 12-hour shifts.Job Details•Work in the Med Surg 3CC unit of an acute care hospital,•Unit has 30 beds and serves adult patients primarily recovering from surgical procedures such as total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology, abdominal surgeries, and bariatrics, as well as medical overflow,•Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights,•Uses Epic EMR; prior experience preferred but not required,•12-hour rotating shifts (day/night), 7:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30; rotation will not occur more than weekly, and block scheduling may be considered based on unit needs,•Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed,•May float to medical and telemetry units as required,•Remote telemetry packs are used with a monitor tech for interpretation,Job Requirements•Active RN license (State or Compact) required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted,•Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required,•Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required,•Surgical, post-op, and early ambulation experience preferred,•Must provide a copy of driver's license,•Two references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire,•Cannot have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year,•Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility,Additional Information•Daily responsibilities include caring for post-surgical and medical overflow patients, managing drains, PCA pumps, TPN, and colostomies,•No requirement to titrate drips, though may occasionally handle set-rate heparin drips and other infusions,•Bedside shift report is standard practice,•RN does not interpret telemetry strips; a monitor tech is available,•RT manages respiratory treatments and RNs handle nasal cannula support,•Team includes charge nurse on both shifts who may take low acuity assignments at night and tech support with a ratio of 1 tech per 12 patients,•Scrub attire of any color is permitted,•First-time travelers will be considered for this position,•Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and limited to 7 days within a 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved,),•hash,:•18217711937844516734,
