Healthcare Setting: Diabetic Renal Medical-Surgical Unit (DRMU) - LAC Resource Team Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025; End: 12/6/2025) Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts (average 36 hours/week) Schedule: Assignments end on Saturdays; 2-3 weekends per month as needed Orientation: Every other Monday Employment Type: Travel/Contract RN (locum tenens) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Virginia or Compact State RN license required at time of application Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience, with a focus on renal and diabetic care preferred Prior travel nursing experience required BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred Experience in a teaching hospital or as a charge nurse preferred All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with your application Approved declinations for COVID-19/Flu vaccinations accepted Med/Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Diabetic Renal Medical-Surgical Unit Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires, to promote a supportive learning environment Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment plans Administer medications, manage IVs, and deliver patient education on renal and diabetic health Participate in unit-based initiatives and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork Work 2-3 weekends per month as required; flexibility is essential Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this exceptional Med/Surg RN job in Lynchburg, Virginia!
