Property Control Coordinator

This position plays a vital role in supporting police operations by ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of department vehicles, equipment and supplies. Strong organizational skills along with attention to detail are critical along with a commitment to safety and service. The position works with internal staff as well as external vendors. A solutions-oriented approach is essential to successfully manage daily tasks and support long-term planning initiatives. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Works collaboratively with all divisions of the police department, with emphasis on communication and planning to ensure department wide preparedness. Prioritizes and completes repairs and preventative maintenance on automobiles, equipment, and facilities to maintain the life expectancy and function of the equipment. Coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance with the vehicle shop, body shop, and other repair facilities or outside vendors. Reviews vehicle status reports and takes responsibility to arrange installations, removals and repairs in a timely manner. Delivers, or arranges for deliveries of commodities with outside vendors. Prioritizes, coordinates and communicates with outside vendors to facilitate any repairs or work requiring delegation to certified specialists. Monitors and coordinates police equipment transferred between vehicles. Completes and maintains paperwork associated with vehicle repair and maintenance. Enters data in Records Management System relating to vehicle repairs and maintenance. Performs routine store keeping duties such as shipping/receiving, labeling, storing, issuing, reordering, billing, and inventorying police commodities and equipment as needed Manages inventory levels of police commodities and equipment. Coordinates with the Purchasing Division regarding auctioning of surplus property, and prepares all property for proper disposition. Coordinates property matters with the Police Department, Finance, Purchasing. Coordinates proper disposal of department paperwork. Maintains computerized records. Utilizes Innoprise software to validate procurement card purchases. Monitors and troubleshoots the Mobile Data Terminals in patrol vehicles to ensure security and performance prior to forwarding to the Information Technology department. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or G.E.D. Or any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the above Minimum Requirements. DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING One year of experience with basic maintenance skills. One year of experience with basic automotive repair experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver's license. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity. Must recognize and accept the expectation of ethical and law abiding behavior in both professional and personal life, as an example to the public you serve. All Emergency Service Employees shall maintain their principal residence within the state boundaries of Arizona. All Emergency Service Employees, except those holding a position in Fire, will arrive at the assigned or emergency work location within one (1) hour from notification to report to duty.
