American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit at a Level I trauma and Magnet-designated hospital, requiring an active IL license, BLS, and NIH certifications.Job Details•Work in a Med/Surg unit within an acute care, Level I trauma center,•Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 18:45-07:15,•Average daily census is 21 with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio for all shifts,•Every other weekend required,•Floating required to other Med/Surg and like units as needed,•Charting is performed in Cerner; Cerner experience is preferred,Job Requirements•Active IL RN license required at time of application,•Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required, more may be preferred,•Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross only, no RQI),•Knowledge/skills in remote telemetry monitoring, rapid response teams, and IV therapy preferred,•Familiarity with care procedures for post-cardiac, neuro, renal, endocrine, respiratory, and GI/GU cases preferred,•Ability to manage central/PICC lines, start IVs, and administer specific medications preferred,•Previous charge or trauma experience, orthopedic trauma, and surgical drain experience preferred,•Proficiency with isolation precautions, wound care, and wound VAC preferred,Additional Information•Provides diverse patient care for a variety of acute medical and surgical conditions,•Part of a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet facility,•Block scheduling not guaranteed but schedule preferences are discussed with management,•Must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract,•First-time travelers are accepted,•Locals are accepted with no radius restriction,•No on-call required,•Flexible scrub color policy: any solid color allowed,•Parking permit required with no cost, completed during orientation,•All previous permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler,•Maximum of 5 days of non-holiday RTO is typically approved; additional time off requires facility approval,•Must complete required onboarding modules and documentation as directed,),•hash,:• ,
