Senior Cloud Solution Architect - Federal - CTJ - Top Secret role at Microsoft

The role involves leading customer engagements, architecture, and delivery to support USG needs with security and compliance considerations.
Responsibilities
- Operate according to operational excellence standards throughout sales stages and activities, including pipeline updates and time tracking.
- Collaborate across Microsoft and customer/partner teams to achieve objectives and increase satisfaction.
- Identify and minimize business and technical risks; apply governance principles and industry/Microsoft guidelines.
- Deliver solutions aligned with company methodologies (e.g., value-based deliverables, advice, training, technical validation) to prepare customers for operational readiness and achieving business goals.
- Facilitate change management practices to drive long-term adoption and increased consumption/usage.
- Guide customers/partners toward an well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, cost- and performance-optimized solution to drive retention and expansion.
- Identify new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion; map customer outcomes to Microsoft value proposition and drive cloud success.
- Proactively capture opportunities in systems and tools, collaborating across the organization to execute aligned opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate blockers to accelerate deployment and value realization; apply business/technical knowledge to meet IT requirements.
- Act as the voice of the customer/partner; present insights to influence product roadmaps and act on feedback.
- Develop relationships with technical and business decision makers and bridge gaps between CIO/CISO and other stakeholders as needed.
- Lead or participate in virtual teams and contribute to IP development and external engagements to elevate Microsoft solutions.
Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, or consulting
- OR equivalent experience
- 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications
Security and Other Requirements
- The role requires an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance; candidate must meet security screening requirements.
- Clearance verification is required prior to offer.
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check required at hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Citizenship verification is required due to government restrictions; US citizenship verification will be performed.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s Degree with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience
- Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) and professional cloud certifications in Cloud, Database, Big Data, BI, Data Science, or Machine Learning are preferred
Experience
- 4+ years in a customer-facing role
- 4+ years on technical projects
- Experience in a Consulting/Architecture role within software engineering or professional services (e.g., Amazon, VMware, Google, IBM, Oracle)
- Knowledge of Azure cloud services and general knowledge of competitive cloud offerings
- Understanding of partner ecosystems and leveraging partner solutions
Compensation and How to Apply
The typical base pay range for this role in the U.S. is USD 106,400 – 203,600 per year (range varies by location). Other benefits may apply. See for details.
