Cloud Solution Architect

to join our Federal organization to address the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). The Microsoft Federal organization emphasizes flexibility in recruiting, hiring, and workforce assignment to meet evolving USG needs across Civilian, Defense, or intelligence community segments. Responsibilities

Operate according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all sales stages/activities/tools, including pipeline updates and time tracking. Collaborate across Microsoft and customer/partner teams through on-strategy delivery to achieve customer/partner objectives and satisfaction. Proactively manage business and technical risks, adapt methodology, and apply governance to identify, communicate, and minimize risks. Deliver solutions in line with company methodologies (e.g., value-based deliverables, advice, training, technical validation) to prepare customers for operational readiness and goal achievement. Help customers deploy for long-term organizational adoption to increase satisfaction, consumption, and usage. Guide customers/partners toward well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, cost- and performance-optimized solutions to increase retention and expansion opportunities. Identify and pursue new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion at scale, based on business value and Microsofts value proposition; capture opportunities in appropriate systems/tools. Act as the voice of the customer/partner, sharing insights with Engineering, Product Offerings, and internal communities; influence product roadmaps and priorities using customer feedback. Engage with senior customer stakeholders (BDMs/TDMs/CIO/CISO as needed) to address security, compliance, and risk requirements; coordinate with subject matter experts when deeper expertise is required. Lead and participate in initiatives to improve customer experience, value realization, and transformation speed; mentor and guide team members on readiness and upskilling. Identify and prioritize partner-driven opportunities, and support proof of concept and pre-sales activities to drive solution utilization via partner ecosystems. Provide thought leadership, contribute to IP, and share learnings with internal and external audiences. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or a related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, architecture, or related areas. OR equivalent experience. 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications. Other Requirements Security Clearance Requirements: active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance required. Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government screening requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: active Top Secret clearance; clearance verification prior to offer; Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years; U.S. citizenship verification where required by law. Additional/Preferred Qualifications Technical: broad experience across Data Platform Cloud solutions and data estate workloads; experience with AI, visualization/tools, SQL/NoSQL databases, data governance, and cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in Azure OpenAI, ML, big data platforms, and related analytics/tools. Familiarity with Azure infrastructure and application development. Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field with multiple years of cloud/architecture experience; professional cloud certifications preferred. Experiences: 4+ years in customer-facing roles; experience in consulting/architecture within software engineering or professional services; knowledge of Azure services and competitive cloud landscapes; partner ecosystem experience. Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 106,400 203,600 per year. Location-based variations apply (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area, NYC area: USD 137,600 222,600).
