Senior Cloud Solution Architect
to join our Federal organization. The Microsoft Federal organization serves the United States Government with specialized mission, regulatory, and procurement considerations. Microsoft Federal personnel may serve in various roles to meet evolving USG needs across Civilian, Defense, or intelligence community sectors. Responsibilities
Operate according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all sales stages and activities; maintain pipeline updates and time tracking. Collaborate across Microsoft and customer/partner teams to deliver on strategy, achieve objectives, and increase satisfaction. Proactively manage business and technical risks; apply governance principles and industry/Microsoft guidelines to minimize risks. Deliver solutions aligned with company methodologies (e.g., value-based deliverables), and prepare customers for operational readiness to achieve business goals. Support change management practices to drive long-term adoption, satisfaction, and continued usage. Guide customers/partners toward well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost- and performance-optimized solutions to increase retention and expansion opportunities. Identify new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion at scale; map customer outcomes to Microsoft value propositions and drive AI innovation where appropriate. Capture opportunities in appropriate systems, working with cross-functional teams to execute initiatives aligned with Microsofts Customer Engagement Model. Identify and mitigate blockers to accelerate deployment and value realization; apply relevant knowledge to meet business/IT requirements. Act as the voice of the customer/partner, sharing feedback with Engineering, Product, and internal communities to influence roadmaps and drive improvements. Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, or consulting. OR equivalent experience. 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications. Security Clearance Requirements:
Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance is required; ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government screening requirements. Clearance Verification: verification of the stated security clearance prior to offer. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: required at hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship Verification: U.S. citizenship is required due to government restrictions. Education & Certifications
Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in relevant fields with 8+ years (Bachelor) or 6+ years (Master) of related experience; OR equivalent experience. Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) preferred; professional cloud certification in Cloud/Database/Big Data/BI/Data Science/AI is a plus. Experiences
4+ years in a customer-facing role and 4+ years on technical projects. Experience in Consulting/Architecture in software engineering or professional services; familiarity with Azure cloud services and competitive cloud offerings. Understanding of partner ecosystems and ability to leverage partner solutions. Compensation & Benefits
The typical base pay range for this role in the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. Salary may vary by location. Certain roles may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
