Overview

Albertson's is seeking an experienced grocery Store Director to lead within our specialty grocery district. This district includes our premier East Coast banners, Kings and Balducci's, known for their exceptional quality and customer service. Responsibilities

Overall management responsibility for the operation of a retail grocery store, including store performance, cash control, inventory and security, customer service, and staff management. Track, analyze, and take action to improve store performance by forecasting weekly/daily sales goals and meeting or exceeding established targets. Communicate sales goals, department performance, and opportunities with staff to drive positive results. Forecast, schedule, and monitor labor in line with store sales and productivity guidelines and wage budgets; develop action plans to address cost control issues. Develop and direct the execution of strategies to improve product placement and appearance; manage display accuracy and promotions; ensure proper in-stock conditions. Oversee store maintenance, cleanliness, safety, sanitation, and ensure secure handling of cash and accounting processes. Prioritize, plan, and coordinate work activities to meet objectives within time and resource constraints. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies, including money handling, safety, sanitation, and recall procedures. Focus on customer satisfaction; coach employees to provide superior customer service. Handle customer and employee complaints and resolve issues in the best interest of the customer and the business. Recruit, train, develop, and manage staff performance; participate in hiring decisions and disciplinary actions up to termination; ensure proper onboarding and training for new hires. Maintain professional relationships with union officials (if applicable) and comply with collective bargaining agreement provisions. Foster positive working relationships with direct reports, peers, supervisors, suppliers, and customers; resolve complex or sensitive situations effectively. Motivate staff to achieve labor, sales, and customer-service goals; model company policies and positive attitude. Ensure proper staffing to meet operational needs and engage in proactive hiring as required. Participate in final hiring decisions, conduct interviews, and determine eligibility to pass probation. Provide ongoing feedback, set performance expectations, and identify developmental opportunities for team members. Comply with all policy requirements and ensure proper training for new hires. Qualifications

Education Level: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; College degree preferred. Experience Level: A minimum of 3 to 5 years as a Store Manager responsible for a multi-department operation within retail, hospitality, or service industries, OR 5+ years of managerial experience as an Assistant Manager with P&L ownership, inventory ordering, and schedule writing responsibilities. Retail grocery experience required; food safety certification preferred. Experience working with unions preferred. Skills and Experiences

Strong planning and organizational skills; solid math and analytical abilities. Customer service and supervisory skills with a track record in retail store operations. Leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written. Computer literacy and ability to make quality decisions under time constraints. Ability to foster positive working relationships with others; P&L ownership and schedule writing experience. Perishable inventory ordering and management. Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $85,000 to $120,000 annually. Starting salary varies based on location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Eligible for a quarterly bonus based on store performance. The total compensation may include 12 days PTO, 40 hours of sick time, 6 recognized holidays, 401(k) match up to 7%, pet insurance, EPA benefits, and more. Travel Requirements

Travel to stores within the hired district for trainings and meetings. Physical Environment

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods; ability to lift up to 55 lbs; may work at a desk or computer for extended periods; may perform stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching as part of job duties. Workday is fast-paced; holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required. Disclaimer
