On-call Crisis Counselors
for
Project IMPACT
at
Thorek Memorial Hospital Andersonville in Chicago . Project IMPACT is a 24/7 behavioral health crisis program aligned with hospital emergency departments in Chicago and Oak Park. The crisis teams conduct onsite and phone intakes for triage, evaluation, crisis intervention, disposition, admission, and resource linkage. Crisis Counselors assess patients in crisis, develop care plans, and connect them to appropriate mental health, substance use, and behavioral health services, including inpatient hospitalization. The environment is dynamic, with a wide range of patient presentations across the behavioral health spectrum. This position complies with CMS rules requiring full vaccination unless exempted for medical or religious reasons. Routine COVID-19 testing is also required. Benefits and Perks

Clinically assess patients and determine immediate intervention needs Familiarize with local resources to serve diverse patient needs Maintain HIPAA and privacy standards with proper documentation Work within a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with staff and external agencies Respect and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) Operate in emergency settings, potentially exposed to bodily fluids and pathogens Exhibit excellent communication skills Complete training promptly Work independently and as part of a team Understand insurance processes, especially Medicare/Medicaid Position Qualifications
Bachelor's in mental or behavioral health; Master’s preferred Licensure such as LSW/LCSW, LPC/LCPC, CADC preferred but not required At least 1 year experience in behavioral health preferred Strong communication and documentation skills Adaptability to a fast-paced environment Knowledge of HIPAA/privacy standards Ability to pass IM-CATS training and credentialing Familiarity with Electronic Health Records and insurance processes preferred Other Requirements
