Responsibilities

• The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.
• Assist Customers in any way necessary — is register-trained, assists with merchandise, and answers Customer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets all Customers by making eye contact, smiling, and saying hello; says thank you with every register transaction.
• Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customers at all times and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies) to maintain merchandise, customer and Team areas.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
• Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor following monthly presentation guidelines and maintains brand name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
• Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise as a representation of Ross Inc.
• Follows all cash, checks, charge card, and refund procedures, ensuring accuracy in handling tender.
• Demonstrates urgency to efficiently perform duties and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Skills

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds; use janitorial equipment and store equipment (PDTs, registers).
• Ability to regularly push, pull and maneuver around the store as required.
