General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform a range of functions in all store areas as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all tasks and maintain a safe shopping environment.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional. Recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers as needed: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions; greet Customers throughout the Store and thank them at checkout.
- Provide prompt and courteous responses to Customer needs; respond to service calls and involve Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces), replenish restrooms, and disinfect high-touch areas to maintain store standards.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Conduct daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandise items per guidelines, and maintain brand familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions.
- Follow MOS policies and proper disposal processes; handle cash, checks, cards, refunds, and related procedures with accuracy.
- Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
