The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role may require performing a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps aisles clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets Customers and thanks them at appropriate times.
  • Assists Customers in merchandise questions; operates registers, answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
  • Provides prompt responses to Customer needs and calls a member of Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes restroom supplies to maintain store cleanliness.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Executes daily merchandising routines to keep the store neat, clean, and well-organized.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and adheres to monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understands Loss Prevention and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follows MOS policies and cash handling procedures; maintains accuracy with transactions.
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency to maximize productivity and follow Store best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
  • Ability to use Store equipment including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand and move for up to 100% of shift; regular bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds (20 pounds for stockroom shifts).

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of shift.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; ability to push/pull and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Additional qualifications may apply for stockroom shifts.
