Overview
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, greets Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, and follows company best practice standards. The role includes maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing a range of tasks across store areas as needed.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the priority; practices safe behaviors at all times.
- Maintains a safe, clutter-free sales floor and immediate reporting of unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
- Assists Customers as needed — is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions politely and knowledgeably. Greets Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a greeting throughout the store; says "thank you" at every register transaction.
- Provides prompt responses to Customer inquiries and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain merchandise, customer areas and Team areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery per company best practices to keep the store neat, clean, and organized.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrates integrity and safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follows MOS policies and cash handling procedures with accuracy.
- Shows urgency and maximizes productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds (and more for Stockroom roles).
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
