Responsibilities

• Provide a positive shopping experience: greet customers, make eye contact, smile, and respond politely and knowledgeably to inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and ensure proper merchandise presentation; assist in replenishment and timely movement of merchandise to the sales floor per guidelines.
• Uphold safety standards, create a safe shopping environment, keep egress clear, report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Represent and support the Ross brand at all times; follow store procedures for cash handling and transactions.
• Perform cleaning tasks as assigned (sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing high-touch areas) and maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, answer questions, and escalate issues to Store Leadership as needed.
• Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards; follow MOS policies and proper disposal procedures.
• Support efficiency in operations by expediting receipts to the floor and maintaining brand knowledge within departments.
• Demonstrate urgency and use store best practices to maximize productivity.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly and cooperative manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use store equipment (PDTs, registers) as required.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move for up to 100% of shifts; regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop.
• May occasionally lift more than 25 pounds; some roles may require lifting over 20 pounds for stockroom shifts.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $17.65 - $18.15 per hour. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k), associate discounts, paid time off where legally required, and other programs. Eligibility varies by full-time/part-time status and location.
