Our client is a Grand Rapids based CPA firm who is looking to add an individual to work as both a Client Support/Payroll Specialist as well as supporting office Administration. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented and is able to move between and manage multiple tasks, while prioritizing as needed. We also encourage implementation of new ideas and workflow improvements to maximize productivity.

Essential Duties

Client Support/Payroll and Accounting:

• Preparation of client payroll using various software.
• Preparation and filing of payroll taxes and payroll tax returns (federal, state and city).
• Preparation of Forms W-2.
• Handle payroll tax inquiries and research/troubleshoot issues.
• Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, journal entries and preparation of financial statements
  
  

Administration

• 1099 preparation and e-filing
• Backup for receptionist, answering phones, distributing mail, daily deposit
• Maintaining cleanliness of office, restocking supplies
• Assembling tax returns
• Other administrative duties as needed
  
  

Payroll Accountant Qualifications

• Payroll and Accounting experience (software QuickBooks, Creative Solutions, ADP) a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, work in a team environment, and problem solve.
• A willingness to take on extra tasks as needed
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Exhibit a high level of integrity
