JOB TITLE - HR Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for division-wide human resources planning and development. She/he will recommend strategies and develop action plans in support of the company's goals and objectives. This role involves working in a fast-paced, non-unionized setting, performing human resources duties at a professional level, and may include responsibilities in organizational development, compensation, training, employment, health and safety, benefits, and employee relations.
Essential Functions
- Provide a broad range of consultative services regarding human resource policies and processes. Must have at least 10 years of experience/knowledge of CA law.
- Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all division personnel.
- Ensure that all compensation policies are administered accurately and effectively as specified by plan documents and legal statutes.
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Drive people processes and ensure workforce contentment.
- Evaluate reports, decisions, and results in relation to established goals.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and services.
- Serve as the equal opportunity employment and affirmative action expert, responsible for investigating complaints, communicating findings, and taking corrective actions as required.
- Assist leadership teams to maximize individual, team, and process performance.
- Facilitate communication across the division, providing guidance on problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and litigation avoidance.
- Partner with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations.
- Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle, including requisitions, application review, interviewing, screening, recruiting, and preparing employment offers.
- Facilitate and/or provide training, including orientation, to the workforce.
- Respond to employee relation issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights issues. Represent the company in unemployment claims.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Education: 4-year degree in HR, Behavioral Science, or related field is required.
Work Experience: 7-10 years in Human Resource Management.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Position involves frequent stationary work, constant communication, and repetitive motions. Occasional movement and physical activities are required.
Travel Requirements
Estimated 15-20% travel.
