Responsibilities Operates according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout sales stages and activities. Collaborates across Microsoft and customer/partner teams through on-strategy delivery to achieve objectives and satisfaction. Proactively manages business and technical risks, adapts methodology, and applies governance principles to identify, communicate, and minimize risks. Delivers solutions in line with company methodologies, ensuring practices and patterns are followed to prepare customers for operational readiness and business goal achievement. Supports change management practices to enable long-term organizational adoption, increasing satisfaction and driving consumption. Guides customers/partners toward well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost- and performance-optimized solutions to increase retention and expansion opportunities. Provides feedback to Unified Delivery Team on content refinement. Proactively identifies new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion (especially Enhanced Solutions) at scale based on business value and Microsofts value proposition. Listens to customers/partners, builds trust, and advocates for alternative architectures/solutions as needed. Identifies industry trends and maps existing architectures to customer outcomes. Captures opportunities in appropriate systems and processes, collaborating across the organization to act on opportunities aligned with Microsofts Customer Engagement Model. Identifies, escalates, and mitigates blockers to accelerate deployment and value realization. Applies knowledge to architecture or support projects to meet business and IT requirements and resolve constraints. Proactively acts as the voice of the customer/partner, sharing insights with Engineering, Product Offerings, and internal communities. Develops strategic insights from feedback and presents business cases to influence roadmaps, prioritization, and initiatives. Translates customer problems into industry solutions aligned with Microsoft strategy and helps customers adopt cross-solution area strategies. Builds relationships with technical decision makers (TDMs) and bridges to business decision makers (BDMs), engaging C-level stakeholders as needed for security, compliance, and risk considerations. Drives team focus on customer/partner experience, defining conditions of success, and addressing dissatisfaction to improve value realization and transformation velocity. Partner Specialization Identifies and prioritizes opportunities aligned with revenue goals, guiding partners and sales teams through proof of concept and technical pre-sales support. Understands market opportunities and collaborates with GPS to translate opportunities into actions. Guides partners in developing repeatable offerings and advises them through initial customer implementations. Technical Leadership Uses market insights to drive up-skilling and accreditation, models technical readiness, and mentors teams. Leads readiness and upskilling activities, sharing proven practices. Identifies gaps in delivery, communicates them to stakeholders, and contributes to scalable processes and IP development. Participates in external events and communities to elevate Microsofts brand and share learnings. Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting OR equivalent experience 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications
Other Requirements Security Clearance Requirements:
Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance required. Must meet Microsoft, customer and/or government screening requirements. Failure to maintain required clearance may result in employment action. Clearance Verification: Successful verification of the stated security clearance is required prior to offer. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Must pass upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions; citizenship will be verified with approved documents or verified U.S. government clearance.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications Breadth of technical experience with data platform cloud solutions and data estate workloads, including AI (Azure Cognitive Services), Power Platform, SQL platforms, NoSQL (Azure Cosmos DB, Cassandra, MongoDB), data governance awareness Enterprise-scale experience with cloud/hybrid infrastructures, architecture design (scalability, security, resiliency), database migrations, and cloud management Hands-on experience building solutions or POCs with Azure OpenAI and/or open-source LLMs Machine Learning (Azure ML Services / ML Flow) and model operationalization Big Data platforms (Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, Spark/EMR/HDInsight) and Azure Data Bricks Familiarity with Azure infrastructure and application development
Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years of experience in related areas OR Masters Degree in related field AND 6+ years of experience in related areas OR equivalent experience Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) and Professional Cloud Certification in related technologies preferred
Experiences 4+ years in a customer-facing role 4+ years on technical projects Prior Consulting/Architecture experience in software engineering or professional services is desired Knowledge of Azure cloud services and general knowledge of competitive cloud services Understanding of partner ecosystems and leveraging partner solutions
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range for specific locations (SF Bay Area and NYC metro) of USD $137,600 - $222,600. Some roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
