Senior Cloud Solution Architect
to join Microsoft Federal, which addresses the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules of the US Government (USG). Microsoft Federal personnel may serve in various roles to meet evolving USG needs across Civilian, Defense, or intelligence community segments. Responsibilities Operate according to required operational excellence and practice standards throughout sales stages and tools of record (e.g., pipeline updates, time tracking). Collaborate across Microsoft and customer/partner teams to achieve objectives and increase satisfaction. Identify and minimize business and technical risks; apply governance to ensure alignment with priorities. Deliver solutions in line with company methodologies and prepare customers for operational readiness and business goal achievement. Leverage change management practices to drive long-term organizational adoption and increased usage. Guide customers/partners toward secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost- and performance-optimized solutions. Identify new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion; map solutions to customer outcomes and drive adoption. Capture opportunities in appropriate systems and work with the organization to execute aligned with Microsofts Customer Engagement Model. Address blockers to accelerate deployment and value realization; apply knowledge to meet IT requirements and resolve constraints. Act as voice of the customer/partner; share feedback to engineering and product teams and influence roadmaps. Build relationships with technical and business decision makers; interact with CIO/CISO roles as needed.
Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, architecture, or consulting OR equivalent experience 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects related to cloud-based applications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in same fields AND 6+ years of relevant experience OR OR equivalent experience Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google) and professional cloud certifications preferred
Other / Security Requirements
Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and government screening requirements Microsoft Cloud Background Check required on hire/transfer and every two years thereafter Citizenship verification due to citizenship-based restrictions for certain government work
Experience
4+ years in a customer-facing role and 4+ years on technical projects Experience in a Consulting/Architecture role within software engineering or professional services is desired Knowledge of Azure cloud services and general knowledge of competitive cloud offerings Experience with Azure OpenAI or open source LLMs, ML/AI services, and data platforms (e.g., Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift) Familiarity with data governance, security, resilience, and enterprise-scale cloud architectures
Compensation and Application
Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 106,400 - 203,600 per year, with higher ranges in select locations. The company may offer additional benefits and compensation.
