Cloud Solution Architect

to join our Federal organization. Microsoft Federal addresses the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft Federal emphasizes flexibility in recruiting and workforce assignments to meet evolving USG needs across Civilian, Defense, or intelligence communities. Responsibilities

Operate according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards across all sales stages and activities (e.g., pipeline updates, time tracking). Collaborate with Microsoft and customer/partner teams to achieve objectives and increase satisfaction. Proactively manage business and technical risks, applying governance to identify, communicate, and minimize risks. Ensure compliance with industry and Microsoft guidelines and continuously prioritize competing demands to align with business priorities. Deliver solutions aligned with company methodologies (e.g., value-based deliverables, training, technical validation) to prepare customers for operational readiness and business goals. Support change management practices to drive long-term organizational adoption and increase customer satisfaction and usage. Guide customers/partners toward well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost-efficient solutions to increase retention and expansion opportunities. Provide feedback on deliverables to refine and develop content. Identify new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion at scale, based on business value and Microsofts value proposition, and map customer requirements to solutions. Engage with customers/partners to build trust, advocate for alternative architectures, and translate business needs into technical outcomes. Capture opportunities across systems and collaborate across the organization to execute opportunities aligned with Microsofts Customer Engagement Model. Identify, escalate, and mitigate blockers to accelerate deployment and value realization; apply knowledge to meet business and IT requirements. Act as the voice of the customer/partner to inform engineering, product, and internal teams with feedback and insights. Develop business cases to influence roadmaps, prioritization, and initiatives; translate customer problems into industry solutions aligned with Microsoft product/ platform strategy. Build relationships with technical decision makers (TDMs) and bridge to business decision makers (BDMs); engage with CIO/CISO as needed to address security, compliance, and risk requirements. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, networking, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, or consulting 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications Other Requirements Security Clearance Requirements: Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance required. Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. Clearance Verification: Successful verification of security clearance required prior to offer. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Must pass background check on hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship Verification: Requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions for federal government work. Education & Experiences Bachelors Degree with 8+ years of related experience or Masters Degree with 6+ years of related experience; or equivalent experience. Technical certification in Cloud and professional cloud certifications preferred. Experience in cloud, architecture, and/or consulting with emphasis on security, data, AI, and migration initiatives. Additional/Preferred Qualifications Broad technical experience with data platforms and cloud solutions; depth in areas such as AI, data governance, SQL/NoSQL, data visualization, and cloud analytics. Experience with Azure OpenAI, ML services, big data platforms, and data-related architectures. Familiarity with Azure infrastructure and application development; ability to mentor teams and contribute to IP and reusable patterns. Compensation Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 The typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD 106,400 - 203,600 per year. Location-specific ranges apply (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area, NYC).
