Legal Assistant For Trusts And Estates

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant specializing in Trusts and Estates to join our team in Hauppauge. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with various administrative and legal tasks in a dynamic legal environment. Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing documents, and facilitating client communication. Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives. Assist in estate administration activities, including probate filings and communication with beneficiaries. Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries for attorney review. Coordinate with courts, financial institutions, and government entities as required. Ensure client files are maintained and updated in accordance with firm policies. Support billing processes, track expenses, and perform other assigned administrative tasks. Qualifications:

Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in estate planning, trust administration, or elder law is preferred. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software; experience with Clio, WealthCounsel, or HotDocs is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Holding a notary certification is a plus. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Compensation And Benefits:
