Purpose The City of Savannah Office of the City Manager is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide professional support to the Chief of Staff. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient operations by managing daily administrative functions, coordinating communication, and assisting with special projects and initiatives that advance the City's priorities. Essential Job Functions

Provides administrative and clerical support to the Chief of Staff, including scheduling, calendar management, correspondence, and meeting preparation. Prepares, proofreads, and edits reports, presentations, and other official documents. Serves as a liaison between the Chief of Staff, internal departments, external agencies, elected officials, and community partners. Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely, professional manner. Coordinates travel arrangements, itineraries, and expense reports. Maintains records, files, and databases to ensure accurate and accessible information management. Assists in planning and organizing events, meetings, and community engagement activities. Tracks deadlines, deliverables, and project updates to support executive priorities. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Requires an Associate or Technical Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field. Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office technology. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing executive-level support in a government or public sector setting. Master's degree in business administration, public administration, or related field.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
