Controller . Salary/Hourly Rate: $140k - $150k Position Overview: The Controller will lead the organization’s accounting operations, ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit financial regulations, and support their financial goals. Responsibilities of the Controller:

Oversee the daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage and monitor cash flow forecasting.

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations.

Lead annual audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.

Support the development of the annual organizational budget in collaboration with department heads.

Monitor budget-to-actual performance and analyze variances.

Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Manage financial aspects of government and private grants, including tracking, reporting, and compliance.

Ensure accurate allocation of restricted and unrestricted funds.

Prepare required financial reports for funders and stakeholders.

Supervise accounting staff (if applicable), including training, performance management, and professional development.

Collaborate cross-functionally with program and development teams to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.

Required Experience/Skills for the Controller:

Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting (FASB standards), and fund accounting.

Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Blackbaud).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

Experience in nonprofit finance and grant management.

Familiarity with federal and state compliance requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations.

Education Requirements:

CPA or MBA required.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
