Ustech Solutions
Scientist I, Oligonucleotide Analytics
Key Responsibilities
30% • Operating LC-MS systems to perform in-process and final QC of various scales of highly modified oligonucleotides, including siRNA and ASO, to support both discovery portfolio and pre-portfolio projects
20% • Optimize methods and improve analytical capabilities for Client Oligonucleotide synthesis
10% • Analyze and optimize methods in a project-specific way (i.e. GalNAc vs Cholesterol vs C16) by denaturing and non-denaturing HPLC methods. In addition, phosphoramidites or lipids by HPLC and LCMS.
20% • Establish and automate high throughput analytical capabilities and coordinate those efforts with higher synthesis throughput.
5% • Analyze oligonucleotides by HPLC-SEC, RP-IP and Ion-Exchange Chromatography.
• Continue optimizing siRNAs using best-in-class analytical chemistry methodologies such as different column matrixes for optimal siRNA characterization
• Support integrity confirmation requests (such as concentration) by assay development and biology teams
3% • Conduct QC for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations of mRNA
5% • Ensure the supply of laboratory consumables and reagents are in stock as needed
• Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting.
2% • Present data and reports on project status at individual, group, and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
Ph.D. with 1-3 years of experience, performing progressively advanced duties at the Scientist level, or the equivalent training/experience is required.
Prior experience in the characterization of oligonucleotides and/or nucleoside/nucleotide analytes is required.
Role is 100% onsite
Top Three Skills: Operate LC-MS systems - Analyze and optimize methods - establish and automate high throughput analytical capabilities
We are seeking candidates with experience in Analytical Chemistry, Oligonucleotides, siRNA, and gene therapy, with 1-3 years of relevant experience and the ability to commute daily. This role requires in-depth LC-MS operation and oligonucleotide analysis capabilities, including modifications such as GalNAc, Cholesterol, and C16 variants.
