Senior Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Lakewood, New Jersey. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position is ideal for someone who is meticulous, well-versed in general ledger activities, and has a strong background in month-end close procedures. This role is fully onsite in Lakewood, NJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts to maintain financial integrity.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including reviewing transactions and ensuring proper classification.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with precision and timeliness.
  • Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and reports are accurate.
  • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to manage financial data.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline and improve accounting workflows.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Strong expertise in bank reconciliations and general ledger functions.
  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing month-end close processes.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings clearly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
