Payroll Specialist

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's Corporate Office locations in Scottsdale, Arizona. Discovery Land Company is seeking a full-time, year-round Payroll Specialist to join the Finance and Accounting Department. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a strong accounting background and hands-on experience using Workday for payroll and Sage Intacct for financial reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with all applicable regulations, and seamless integration with accounting systems. Duties & Responsibilities: Process and audit payroll using Workday, ensuring accuracy in earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts in Sage Intacct and assist with month-end and year-end close. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies. Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and analysis. Assist in system updates, testing, and configuration in both Workday and Sage Intacct. Stay current on payroll regulations and system enhancements. Skills & Qualifications: 3+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year using Workday Payroll. Experience with OSV Payroll processer a plus Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems. Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll reconciliations. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment. Experience with multi-state payroll and tax filings preferred. Familiarity with Workday integrations and reporting tools preferred. Knowledge of labor laws and benefits administration preferred.
