General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times. Recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assists Customers as needed; is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions politely and knowledgeably. Greets Customers with eye contact, smiles, and courtesy at all times.
  • Provides prompt responses to Customer inquiries; responds to Service calls and involves Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and maintains high-touch areas to keep merchandise, customer, and Team areas clean.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and adheres to monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understands Loss Prevention Awareness and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follows MOS policies and cash handling procedures with accuracy.
  • Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Stockroom shifts require the ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00. The base pay range depends on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, and location. This range is one component of total compensation.
