Overview

Construction Accountant position with RemX | The Workforce Experts. The role supports financial operations, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the executive team to ensure seamless financial and project accounting. Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies
• Process payments to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement
• Track incoming payments and manage invoicing schedules
• Track and report project-specific costs and budgets
• Assist project managers with job costing, budget variances, and forecasting
• Reconcile project billing and expenses to ensure accuracy
• Prepare and submit AIA billing applications and lien waivers
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and retainage requirements
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Support audits and internal reviews as needed
• Collaborate across departments and assist with ad hoc projects and operational tasks
• Participate in process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
• Strong experience with AIA billing, subcontractor payments, and project accounting
• Familiarity with construction software Sage, QuickBooks or an ERP software
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
