Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and possess the necessary skills to support our dentists in delivering high-quality dental services. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and patient histories. Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Monitor vital signs as necessary during procedures. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient record keeping. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques. Skills Proficient in using EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) for managing patient records. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience in chairside assisting and familiarity with general dentistry practices. Ability to perform medical imaging tasks and operate 3D scanners when necessary. Understanding of prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry principles. Strong background in infection control measures and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and records management is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while providing compassionate care.
