We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team in a new Steakhouse in Mount Vernon Slated to open sometime in October The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production (experience in steakhouse is a must), kitchen management, and team leadership, with a passion for creating innovative menus and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, managing inventory, and mentoring staff to foster a collaborative and efficient work environment. Responsibilities Develop and execute creative menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences. Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation. Manage daily kitchen operations, including food production, inventory control, and ordering supplies as needed. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service during meal periods. Oversee catering events and banquets, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of meals. Conduct regular performance evaluations for kitchen staff and implement training programs to enhance skills. Monitor food costs and waste to maintain budgetary goals while delivering exceptional quality. Skills Proven experience in a Head Chef or similar leadership role within the culinary industry. Steakhouse is a must Strong background in fine dining, catering, or banquet service is highly desirable. Expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques across various cuisines. Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of culinary professionals. Knowledge of inventory management practices and food service management principles. Familiarity with dietary department operations and accommodating special dietary needs is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation practices. Culinary degree or equivalent experience in the food industry is preferred.
