We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting orthodontists in delivering high-quality dental services. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures and knowledge of orthodontic practices, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient documentation and record-keeping. Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care, particularly in pediatric dentistry settings. Conduct preliminary assessments by measuring vital signs and gathering relevant medical history. Operate dental imaging equipment, including 3D scanners, to assist in treatment planning. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care. Requirements Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar dental clinic role is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems (Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is highly desirable. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with understanding of general dentistry principles. Proficiency in taking X-rays and performing chairside assisting tasks effectively. Strong communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages, particularly children. Ability to work well within a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
