Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, chairside assisting, and infection control practices. Experience with EMR systems such as Denticon and Dentrix is highly desirable. Flexible work schedule. Poss work days are Mondays, Tues 12-7pm, Weds 9-4pm and 2 Sat a month 9-2:30pm. Usually wotk 2-3 days in advance. We have Endo and Orth come in once a month each on different Thursdays. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information in medical documentation accurately. Manage patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients and their families. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary and assist in prosthodontics and endodontics procedures as required. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding is essential. Experience in chairside assisting with proficiency in taking X-rays and performing basic dental procedures. Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus; experience working with children is highly valued. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
